Putting your baby to sleep is not an easy task and we're not the exception. Putting our nine month old baby to bed can be an arduous, backbreaking, demanding labor that starts from 8pm and ends somewhere before midnight. Worth noting wife does 99.99% of the work involved.
But, I stumbled upon a site that claims that by using sounds of soothing rain and distant thunder, it can help babies to fall asleep. In fact they provide a flash movie that plays them continuously. OK, let's give this a shot! Let's see if web technology can help us! It is 8pm, the baby has been bathed and fed, it is bed time! or "tutu nite nite" as my mom would say. I dimmed the lights in the room and my laptop starts playing the soothing sounds....no change in the first five minuites. By 8:15pm Jackie and I are ready to fall asleep while Anderson shows no signs. By 8:20 I noticed that he starts dozing off, I then turn off all the lights, it is pitch dark and seven minutes later....wham!...Anderson is sleeping!!! woohoo!!!!
The next night we tried it once again with favorable results! The skeptic inside me would always wonder if indeed the flash movie really worked or perhaps it was just beginners luck. Whatever the case maybe, the ritual is now, bath, feeding and soothing sounds!
